As the year is slowing to a close so is the abundance of music released, but don't turn away yet because there are still a few worthwhile moments to hit from this month. Hemlock Ernst & Kenny Segal - Back At The House Sam Herring of Future Islands teams up with producer Kenny Segal for his first full length rap album and delivers a series of mostly successful highly lyrical hip hop tunes that should at least give fans of the genre something to chew on. Review Sunn 0))) - Pyroclasts The legendary drone metal bands second release of 2019 isn't quite as thrilling as their first, but is still well worth hearing for fans of the genre and any experimental music at all. Review King Princess - Cheap Queen KP's debut record flashes a lot of promise with some fantastic high points, but is most notable for just how many of its tunes are the pop music equivalent of brown wallpaper. King Princess AKA Mikaela Straus is a New York singer songwriter who emerged a few years ago on a wave of LGBT positive pop music with her debut single 1950.  After the song received a co-sign from Harry Styles, Mikaela was signed to Mark Ronson's record label. She released a debut EP last year and after dropping a number of singles has arrived with her debut record Cheap Queen here. Review By Lavender: While I wasn't initially impressed with Mikaela's first EP, last year her single Pussy Is God  caught my attention and ended up in the back quarter of my Year End Singles List for 2018. After a run of mostly solid singles leading up to this record I was excited to see what she could offer a full length record, and while Cheap Queen  may be a stepping stone to great things, it is far too inconsistent. 1. Travis Scott - Highest In The Room The long awaited Highest In The Room  is finally here and more than well deserving of Travis Scott's first #1 of 2019 after dropping one of the best contemporary raps albums of the last few years with Astroworld 2. Danny Brown - 3 Tearz  (Feat. Run The Jewels) Typically singles that release the same week as albums don't tend to perform as well on the charts but seeing Danny link up with RTJ is just too much starpower to hold the track back even after Danny has had two number ones in the last month. 3. Clipping - Blood Of The Fang Clipping may have one of my most anticipated albums of this entire year but I will say their last two singles have come out in busy weeks by hip hop standards, Clipping debuts its third song in the top three yet only one has been a number one. 4. Mark Ronson Is a veteran music industry producer who has worked with a number of different artists across a myriad of genres for nearly 20 years. In that time he has developed numerous strong connections across the industry while only releasing three true studio records. Late Night Feelings, his fourth record arrives on the back of a string of critically acclaimed singles with a number of high profile features. Review By Lavender: I have never really been a fan of a Mark Ronson record before, while maybe you can count on a single or two to be decent or at least some solid hits, for the most part I paid much more attention to his name when it wasn't as the primary artist.
