Dirty Projectors are a New York based indie rock group who have managed to achieve their goal of releasing 5 EP's this year with the release of Ring Road . While the first four EP's each featured one prominent lead vocalist this EP feature vocals from typical frontman David Longstreth as well as numerous renditions of group vocals to support. Review By Lavender: For the 5th time this year I've sat down to review a Dirty Projectors EP and so far it has gone one of two ways. I really enjoyed the first two EP's of the year which impressed with catchy songwriting and gorgeous instrumentals . Unfortunately the other two were more defined by ill thought out experiments and strangely mixed tracks . Thankfully Ring Road  is a fantastic return to form to close off the series and makes a difficult choice even harder for picking which set of track is my favorite come the end of the year. Dirty Projectors is the long running indie project of David Longstreth. Over the years numerous musicians and vocalists have filled in roles for the band and Super Joao  is the third of 5 EP's the band plans to release this year each focusing on a different vocalist.  Review By Lavender: I have loved Dirty Projectors for as long as I can remember which was pretty clearly evidenced by my very positive reviews of their two EPs earlier this year. I was particularly excited for this release because long time frontman David Longstreth is the vocalist for these tracks. I have always enjoyed his vocals quite a bit and more than ever before on the past two full length Dirty Projectors records. Dirty Projectors is a long running indie project centered around songwriter and multi-instrumentalist David Longstreth. The project has gone though numerous sonic transitions and line-up changes over the years but has set out on a 5 EP series each featuring a different vocalist, of which Flight Tower  is the 2nd. Review By Lavender: I have always been a big Dirty Projectors fan and earlier this year was no different when I heavily praised their Windows Open  EP. In comparison this new project which features Felicia Douglass of fellow indie project Ava Luna on vocals transitions from the folk inspired sound into a much more electronica and R&B direction. Dirty Projectors are a long running indie project based in Brooklyn that has been subject to more line-up changes than can be reasonably kept up with. The one constant through the entire discography of the band is singer, writer, multi-instrumentalist and producer David Longstreth. The bands last two records, the first of which 2017's Dirty Projectors  was entirely a solo effort from Longstreth, have been a big time change of pace from the indie sound that they made their name off of, but Windows Open  is largely a return to it.
