NAS is a legendary rapper who needs no introduction at this point. From his legendary debut album recorded while he was still a teenager, to his long running feud with Jay-Z in the 90's and 2000's to him continuing to be cited as an inspiration for contemporary rappers, Nas has a legacy that rivals most anyone in rap music. Kings Disease II  comes almost a year after it's predecessor which both follow the second in his compilation series The Lost Tapes II  in 2019. Don Toliver is a Houston based rapper and singer who blew up off of some huge features on Travis Scott's Astroworld  in 2018, alongside Eminem earlier this year and a staring role in the Jackboys label mixtape late in 2019. With a strong industry backing and a very unique vocal style Don Toliver's debut record was one of the more highly anticipated among hip hop fans in 2020. Review By Lavender: It's fair to say that I had some expectation going into this record given how much I loved Don Toliver on one of the many highlights from Travis Scott's Astroworld , Can't Say . He was one of the only solid parts of the Jackboys  record last year and he was even tolerable on this years new Eminem record. While the first month of this new decade never really knocked me off my feet, there were still plenty of worthwhile releases, which is especially impressive given how little material usually comes out around this time. Poppy dives further into the world of experimental rock than ever before penning some of her hardest hitting metal tunes and continuing to push the envelope of her rock and pop crossovers on this very solid outing. Review Beach Slang returns with a record that throws out the old and replaces it with the even older as they channel the bouncy dad rock of the 1970's to mixed results.  Review Selena's return had the potential to be a big one but with an incredibly hit or miss tracklist Rare  is more like listening to a rushed album than one five years in the making.  Review Eminem has some great beats from Dr. Dre and plenty of great features from hip hop icons new and old, but unfortunately none of this can stop him from being himself...

Eminem Review By Lavender: Marshall Mathers AKA Eminem is a rapper from Detroit who got his career off to a fantastic start. Between 1999 and 2002 Eminem dropped three excellent records that you should definitely listen to. Since then Eminem has release no more good records and the quality of his albums have ranged from mediocre to some of the worst rap records of all time. His new album Music To Be Murdered By  isn't terrible, and is better than his last two bad records. There are some great guest features and a handful of solid instrumentals from hip hop new and old. Unfortunately many of these tracks suffer from the same things Eminem's music has for decades. This album is full of terrible hooks, bad features from bad singers and Eminem's kooky rap styling and childish upset delivery.
