Candle Cove Singles Chart: 10/4/19
1. Travis Scott - Highest In The Room
The long awaited Highest In The Room is finally here and more than well deserving of Travis Scott's first #1 of 2019 after dropping one of the best contemporary raps albums of the last few years with Astroworld
2. Danny Brown - 3 Tearz (Feat. Run The Jewels)
Typically singles that release the same week as albums don't tend to perform as well on the charts but seeing Danny link up with RTJ is just too much starpower to hold the track back even after Danny has had two number ones in the last month.
3. Clipping - Blood Of The Fang
Clipping may have one of my most anticipated albums of this entire year but I will say their last two singles have come out in busy weeks by hip hop standards, Clipping debuts its third song in the top three yet only one has been a number one.
4. Poppy - I Disagree
After dropping the best EP of the year so far and following it up with another great single in Concrete there should be no debate whatsoever that Poppy belongs here.
5. King Princess - Hit The Back
King Princess promised a bop that is also a bottom anthem and now that its arrived there's nothing we can do but stan.
6. Sleater-Kinney - Animal
After dropping a disappointing album earlier this year the band saw fit to drop this track from those recording sessions and the excitement is palpable, but measured.
7. Flume - Rushing Back (Feat. Vera Blue) (Week #2, Down From #1)
Flume scores a strong weak two on the back of a light release weekend and is eyeing a week 3 placement on the horizon.
8. Hemlock Ernst and Kenny Segal - Down (Week #2, Down From #2)
One of the bigger surprises of the week holds on with the Hemlock Ernst album on the way soon the era has gotten off to a very hot start.
9. Foals - Into The Surf (Week #2, Down From #3)
Foals have had a busy 2019 but with mostly successful releases with Into the Surf being the most recent addition.
10. Broken Bells - Good Luck (Week #2, Down From #4)
Like many week two placements staying strong this duo returns to form almost five years later for another successful indie collab.
11. Electric Light Orchestra - From Out Of Nowhere (Week #2, Down From #5)
ELO may not have been a name you expected to hear much about in 2019 but this new track proves that the band still has something going for them.
12. DIIV - Blankenship (Week #3, Down From #8)
The best single from DIIV's new era lands a strong spot in week 2 despite it being their turn to drop their dream pop and shoegaze tinged record this weekend.
13. Have A Nice Life - Lords Of Tresserhorn (Week #3, Down From #9)
After a worrying first single Have A Nice Life returns with a more comforting track that I've enjoyed for two weeks and will likely continue to enjoy until the records release.
14. Ariel Pink - Bolivian Soldier (Week #2, Down From #6)
Ariel Pink fails to return quite as strongly as his fellow Week 2 placements but manages to avoid slipping off the charts with a decent tune.
15. Perfume Genius - Eye In The Wall (Week #4, Down From #13)
For the first time in 2019 we have a week 4 placement and what a song to get it. One of the best singles I've heard all year from an artist who had an unstoppable run on this chart in 2017 returns and nabs one of the most well deserved week 4 placements of all time.
