The music industry runs on the single, and it always has. Whether its a surprise midnight drop, a breakout hit, a big budget music video, or a largely anticipated return singles can be pockets of the most exciting parts of what the music world has to offer. Here on this list we count down our top 100 singles of the year, this includes any lead-up or promotional tracks to albums or any songs that received videos or promotional material after the fact. Unlike the songs list it takes into account the full scale of what a song has to offer including its context and and promotional material dropped along side it. Also unlike the songs list it is limited to one song per artists as it is after all not just a strict grade of quality and with the nature of promotion we would like to include as many acts as possible.
