Best New Songs Of The Week: August 22nd, 2021

Five must hear songs that came out this week:

5. Bloody Future - Kilo Kish
Kilo's second single from her upcoming project is an improvement on all fronts with a shimmering club beat, infectious hook and charming lyrical angle. She continues to be one of the more underrated voices in modern electro pop but always feels like she's on the verge of a breakout with tracks like this.

4. Life Is Not The Same - James Blake
With contributions from trap mainstays Take A Daytrip as well as Joji on production James Blake delivers another intimate heartbreaker, this time over a slick trap inspired beat. The absolute belter of a hook reminisces on earlier eras of his career but the undeniably slick instrumentation continues to mirror his journey into more popular music styles.

3. More - Low
With their third and shortest teaser yet in lead up to their new record slowcore legends Low continue to dabble in expansive noise passages and cascading vocal lines. The clash has proven to be a compelling one with each and every outing and despite its brevity More only creates further interest in the veteran acts upcoming work.

2. Walking At A Downtown Pace - Parquet Courts
The Philly rockers are back in action and following up their massively acclaimed Wide Awake in style with a bouncy, slick rocker that returns the groups lyrical focus without sacrificing a bit of their style. While Dangermouse doesn't return on production the band continues their effortless fusion of punk rock and art rock to create a raucous and incredibly infectious lead single for their new era.

1. Tick Tock - Young Thug
Just a few weeks removed from a high profile album announcement Thugger is providing the first taste of the upcoming Punk with this unbelievably infectious and undeniably fun lead single. His continued mastery of fun flows over casual smooth production has crafted a number of effortlessly smooth singles and Tick Tock is among the best of them.
